Children learn best when they are healthy, safe, secure, when their individual needs are
met, and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them.
We create a high-quality, welcoming, and safe setting where children can enjoy learning and grow in confidence.
We take all necessary steps to keep children safe and well to Safeguard children.
• Ensure the adults who have contact with children are suitable.
• Promote good health.
• Support and understand behaviour.
• Maintain records, policies, and procedures.

Our setting has a duty under the law to help safeguard children against suspected or actual ‘significant harm’. Our employment practices ensure children against the likelihood of abuse in our setting and we have a procedure for managing complaints or allegations against a member of staff. Our way of working with children and their parents ensures that we are aware of any problems that may emerge and can offer support, including referral to appropriate agencies when necessary, to help families in difficulty.

We must be alert to any issues of concern in the child’s life at home or elsewhere. We have and implement a policy, and procedures, to safeguard children. These are in line with the guidance and procedures of the Somerset Safeguarding Children Partnership.

As a setting we are committed to building a ‘culture of safety’ in which children, young people and vulnerable adults are protected from abuse and harm in all areas

Please raise all concerns with our Designated Lead directly in person, or by calling us on 01823661971 or 07939001855, or via email Courtfieldspresch@gmail.com.

In addition to term time the email and mobile are monitored through out the holidays, when the setting is closed by the Manager and deputy.

All staff complete specific Safeguarding training and update annually.
